Monday, 1/17/22 (MLK Day), 9 am (the day after WBA Race Weekend #1). McCabe Trails, Liberty Bell High School, Winthrop, WA.

The goal of the clinic will be to improve skate skiing technique for more efficient use of energy and faster race times. Many of us try to keep improving our shooting skills--let's have that outlook for skiing too!

Open to WBA members who are experienced skate skiers. Members interested in participating will need to contact the coach, Scott Waichler, who will provide the link to Webscorer registration and follow-up information by e-mail. Clinic will be limited to 12 participants; duration depends on group size. Pre-registration via Scott and Webscorer is required. $25 fee for the clinic, XXXX trail pass required for this event XXXX.

9 am to 11:30 am: In the morning we will review key aspects of good skate skiing technique and do some fun exercises as a group. After a lunch break participants will rendezvous with Scott for one-on-one attention at preset times. You will hopefully end the day with a clearer understanding of your strengths and weaknesses, and some useful ideas for continuing to improve your technique
The coach: Scott Waichler is a WBA member and a Level 3 Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) and Level 100 USSA cross-country ski coach, and also has a USBA coaching membership. Scott lives in Winthrop, WA and coaches for Methow Valley Nordic SEF in both XC and biathlon.

Winthrop has plentiful lodging close to the skiing. See Methow Reservations.
